The Canon Powershot A570IS is a compact camera that delivers very good results and value for the money. With 7.1 megapixels of resolution and a 4x optical zoom that benefits from a built-in optical image stabilization (IS) system that helps produce sharper results under lower light conditions, the Canon A570IS has plenty to offer the entry level digital photographer. With the ability to adjust exposure and ISO sensitivity settings, and with the option of adding dedicated accessories like lens converters for more wide angle or telephoto reach, or an underwater protective case, the A570IS can also serve as a pocket back up for the more advanced photographer looking to travel light. An optical viewfinder, and AA battery useage are two other attractive features of this camera. Although regular AA alkaline batteries will work, it is recommended to use rechargeable batteries, which would be optional. For those that want to shoot short movie clips (YouTube fans), the Canon A570 IS offers a pretty good movie mode that will capture movies at TV resolution (640 x 480) up to 60 frames per sec.
